Notice about the title of this blog.
I understand that this blog is entitled "Christian Radio Kids." Originally I had intended for this blog to be about God, but gradually moved away from the subject and didn't change the name.
If you have turned away from this website because of the name, it's your loss.
However, I now publish most of my other posts to my new blog, Cupcakes and Crazy Reviews.

Monty's Birthday
Mind the little gift in the corner.
My Monty is turning one in a few weeks! I'm so happy for him!
I'm buying him a playground and a bird diaper.
How do you have a birthday party for a bird?
Simple.
Birthday Party
1. We'll all sing happy birthday!
2. Give Monty his cake, held together by lard and made up of raisins, seeds, and other little treats.
3. Let him tear open what he thinks is his presents and then hand him the REAL ones.
4. Give him several pencils to shred and Cuties to eat.
His birthday is May 16th, but my brother has his stupid baseball game then so we'll celebrate it on the 15th.

Resumes
Oh gosh.
I just finished judging some resumes with my mom(she's the manager at her paper company) and I just have to say:
They were repulsive.
Mistakes Made By Applicants
1. Past Experience
They don't stay at their jobs long enough. Some people go from job to job, and don't stay so much as 6 months. Also, the people have really suckish jobs; some of them were PetSmart employees, others worked as waitresses. That's fine if you're 20. But some of the applicants are over 30.
2. Spelling and Grammar
Whatbothers really me these resomes is that the poeple dont take time too proof read there work adn check there grammer, spelling, run on sentences and puctoation especialy since some applcants are not american.
3. Unnecessary Details
If there's one thing you really don't need on your resume for a paper company, it's a 2 paragraph mini-essay on how much you hated your previous job at Borders.
Tell about accomplishments in high school and LIST YOUR MAJOR. Oh, and don't ever, EVER write on your resume:
"I'm not easily motivated."
That is the biggest turnoff EVER! My mom actually had an applicant say that to her(see "Mistakes Made In Interviews.) She wasn't hired.
4. Length
Let's be real here. Do you actually need a five-page resume? No, you don't. Two pages should be the limit. If you take up those two pages with your list of previous jobs, that may or may not be okay. However, if you take up those pages with your hobbies... not so good. You don't need to list that you love butterfly catching and stamp collecting. That has nothing to do with paper.
Also, don't use complete sentences. The resume really shouldn't be that long, so use BULLET POINTS! Most hirers(is that a word?) do a skim of the resume. Your resume should be appealing to the hirer's eye. Remember, you need to suit THEM.
5. Arriving on Time
If you're sick, then call in sick. If you just don't want to come in, call in sick. See, my mom's the "manager," if you call it that. She's the one to call if you can't come in. However, most interviewees either never show up for their interviews, or are late and never contact again.
Mistakes Made In Interviews
First Example
My mother is in charge of choosing new employees for the company. She has to look over their resume and then either call them in for an interview or forget about them.
A few weeks ago a new applicant was supposed to be interviewed He arrived early in the morning.
There were a few things wrong with him.
1. He was dressed very sloppily; his shirt was unbuttoned, he wasn't wearing a tie.
2. What person has a full time job and takes online college courses instead of working part-time and going to a REAL college?
He was nice young man, but what he was doing was not very smart.
Second Example
A woman came in to be interviewed recently.
There were a few things wrong with her.
1. Her shirt was too tight.
2. She was very insecure.
When you go for an interview, you have to be confident. My mother gave her a few things to say, and after a few tries, she said them nicely. However, she spoke with a southern tone, which was not very appealing when she needed to make calls (which, by the way, makes up 90% of the job.) Often, people are discriminating, and will do something just because it was used by someone of a different ethnicity.
She spoke very quietly and meekly. My mother asked her some more questions about herself. When she was asked about any setbacks she had, she answered:
"I'm not easily motivated."
Okay...
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know if there's anything you want to add.

Use regular Ariel or Calibri font. It needs to be professional.
Your email address should also be professional, with your REAL NAME. If you have to, create a separate email just for your work.
Appropriate Emails
A.Carson@hotmail.com
ArielaCarson@gmail.com
Inappropriate Emails
Mermaidlover@yahoo.com
Ariela♥OneDirection@comcast.net
You don't need to tell about your hobby of bracelet collecting, or the wedding you're planning for your future husband Justin. You need to describe why you would like to work at the job, and what you hope to gain while working there.
DO NOT PUT A PICTURE. People like to use ethnicity as an excuse not to hire people. Don't let them have that option.

Good Friday
Hi! Today is Good Friday, the Friday before Jesus rose from his grave to heaven.
Today I got up at 11:00 AM to play Puss 'N Boots on XBOX 360 and eat breakfast. Then we went to the mall and the bookstore for the rest of the day. Good news! I'll be posting a review of the Shamrock Shake on my other blog soon, so check back soon!
Today is also my baby cousin's 2nd birthday! I love you so much! I bet she's dreaming about eating my socks while she sucks on her cake.
At the bookstore, I got two new books. Lawless by Jeffrey Salane, and I.Q., by Roland Smith. My brother doesn't like reading as much as me, and he didn't get any books.
Anyway, for some reason I kept thinking that today was Saturday. I'm on Spring Break. It was supposed to start today, but for me it started on Thursday because I stayed home to finish some work I needed to get done.
Easter is on Sunday! We're going to an Easter egg hunt then, and I'll post more details soon!
Now, to get my dad to buy me a game. BYE!!

My Birthday
Today is my birthday! I'm 12 years old! Today my mother took me to the hair salon to get my hair straightened. Then we went to the mall and had pizza before getting our nails done. Then we shopped a little bit, and went to the store to get my brother a steak when my mother realized that her coat was too small! Then I realized something. At the hair salon, the ladies had taken our coats. They must have given her the wrong coat! Yous see, when they handed her the coat, the inside tag was red. I didn't remember her having any coats with a red tag in it, but I didn't say anything. It turns out that the workers had been searching everywhere for the coat my mother had; the owner was confused. My mother was able to get her coat back and they sprayed some stuff in my hair to keep it from frizzing everywhere.
Tonight we're going to Ruth Chris! I can't wait to dig my teeth into a nice, warm, smoking steak full of rich and juicy flavor.

I personally HATE completely rare steak, even if it's filet mignon. Medium rare or medium is more me. Rare steak is too gummy, and not yet juicy.

Dr. Suess
Today is Dr. Suess's birthday.
In case you don't know who Theodore Suess Giesal was, he was a children's author most notable for his book "Green Eggs And Ham", "Cat in The Hat", and many others.
Originally, he thought he was bad at drawing real animals, so he drew those strange creatures you find in his books, such as Sam-I-Am in Green Eggs And Ham.
Title: Green Eggs and Ham
Author: Dr. Suess
Date Published: August 12, 1960
Plot
You know the story. It's the "don't knock it 'till you try it" thing.
What happens is a strange dog-mutant thing is trying to read when Sam-I-Am, a smaller dog-mutant thing, comes rolling by and asks the famous question, getting back the famous answer:
DO YOU LIKE GREEN EGGS AND HAM?
I DO NOT LIKE THEM, SAM-I-AM!
And of course, after many perilous and ridiculous situations, the large dog-mutant thing realizes he likes green eggs and ham. Typical toddler story.
Rating
You'd have to be a heartless ninny to rate this story anything less than a 4/5. It's funny, the characters are strange, and the story has a moral.

A Visit to the Vet
The events of this posts actually took place in November, but I'm blogging about them now:)
Okay, so, Monty was in need of a checkup. We took Monty to a different vet, not an urgent care one, and this time I got to go in the room with room.
Monty was SCARED. He was in an unfamiliar place, and he could see from his cage all of the other animals and their owners walking in and out. The only other bird in the waiting room was this adorable and VERY LOUD little conure.
I sat next to the chair his cage was on, rubbing his head and comforting him. My mother stayed outside; all of the animals were making her sneeze; despite my allergies I was okay, despite a few sneezes.
We saw many different types of animals. There were dogs(one kept looping his leash around his owner's legs) and cats, and even a ferret. Monty was literally shivering. He was probably remembering his emergency room visit.
Later, when it was finally Monty's turn, we brought his cage into the checkup room. Monty was silent.
The doctor took him out of his cage( he screamed and shouted.) Then he weighed him on the scale.
Monty seemed fine with that. He stopped yelling and just sat there.
But then...
HE HAD TO CLIP HIS WINGS!!!!!!!!
Part 1
I took this picture today. He's happy and healthy, and he loves to get on the floor and scout for things to chew on in my garbage can.
Monty, age 8 months
