Daddy

My dad wants to stop smoking, so we got him White Cloud Cigarettes. They won't hurt his lungs. They will just deliver him the nicotine, and that's all. My father is a big smoker, smoking almost a pack a day.

This is what happens with his new cigarettes. They are rechargeable, so he can reuse them. He takes a cigarette, and when he smokes it, the end turns fire red and smoke or vapor comes from the cigarette. The cigarettes look like toys.

I think Daddy will now be a bit healthier because of these new cigarettes.

Cut The Rope

Do you have a iPad? If you do, you might have Cut The Rope. It's tricky but fun. And the little green monster, Om Nom is utterly adorable. This is what the Christmas Edition looks like.

I love the iPad sooooo much!

We have a gray cover for it.

Book Review: Swindle

Title: Swindle
Author: Gordon Korman

Type of book: This is a fiction book. I didn't choose this book myself but my teacher was reading it in class and I had to take it it home to answer some questions. I ended up reading the whole book in two hours because it was so interesting.

Introduction: This book was interesting to me because it was about gaining characters trust, and it contained a lot of mishaps, falls, and dog whispering.

Gordon Korman has two other books in this series about these same characters. I haven't read them yet. Now I am more interested in reading more of his books.

I have seen Swindle in other places such as the “Media Center” at school, the public library and the bookstore, but I wasn't interested in the book because I judged the book by it's cover. The cover had a baseball on it and I don't like baseball.

Main Characters: The Man With The Plan, a.k.a, Griffin Bing, who is an eleven-year old who loves to plan heists. Ben Slovak, Griffin's very small narcoleptic friend. Savannah Drysdale, a girl who has way to many pets and dreams of becoming a veternarian. Pitch, a.k.a, Antonia Benson, a girl who loves rock climbing. Melissa Dukakis, a shy girl who is a master with computers. Logan Kellerman, a kid who loves acting. Darren Vadar, a burly kid who blackmailed the other kids, and  S. Wendell Palomino, the main atagonist of the story. He is a mean spirited collector.

Theme of Book: This book was very odd because normally kids can't pull such a stunt so dangerous as the one pulled off in this book.

Griffin, who was cheated out of a Babe Ruth baseball card develops a plan to get the card back, and he needs the help of some friends, one or two enemies, and a dog.

The book takes place in Cedarville, NY. in and around the Griffin's neighborhood.

Conclusion: This book was very good because it dealt with spy-like abilities. Each character had a job. Griffin, Ringleader. Ben, lookout. Savannah, dog whisperer. Antonia, climber. Melissa, computer whiz. Logan, actor, and Darren, muscles.

It also reminds me of the character trait  "working together". More than five kids pull together and devise a plan to outwit "Swindle". A plan so risky like this one is usually only attempted by adults, but the kids manage to pull it off.

My Favorite Part: My favorite part of the book was when Logan Kellerman did his job in the story by distracting the old man with a game of Backgammom. The man figured out what Logan was pulling and told him he was going to call the police. So Logan threw himself into the thorn bushes to distract the old man. While the old man put medicine on Logan's many scratches, no one was calling the police. Logan's friends were safe. For now.

This was my favorite part because Logan was smart enough to know he had to improvise.

Thanks for reading my review. Ta-ta.

What Happened On September 11, 2001?

After we left church this morning I asked my mother what happened on September 11, 2001.  I already know that there was a terrorist attack and planes crashed into buildings and a field in Pennsylvania but I wanted to know why.  Why would people want to hurt other people who they didn't know and people who had never harmed them?  She said  that it was too much to talk about while we were leaving church and we would talk about it more when we got home.

I looked on the internet and found some explanations I thought were really helpful. this is one.

"The September 11th Attack on America
"On September 11, 2001, there was an attack on America.
There are some men that decided that they didn’t like what America stands for: freedom, liberty, and the rights of men and women of all races, backgrounds, and beliefs. So on the morning of September 11, 2001, they hijacked four planes and attacked America in a terrible way.
Two of the airplanes were crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City. The third plane was crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The last plane was going to crash into another building in Washington, D.C., but the passengers stopped the hijackers, and the plane crashed into a field instead.
Thousands of people lost their lives through these attacks. Hundreds of people were on the planes. Thousands died in the buildings that were hit by those planes.
The men that arranged this terrible attack want Americans to feel afraid and disorganized. They want to make people who live in this country do what they say by threatening us. Basically they’re big bullies.
The people of the United States are a strong group of people. Keep faith in who you are and what our country stands for and we will become even stronger than before".
This is a video on Nick News that I found, it helps to explain to kids about that day. The video isn't scary so don't worry.  CLICK VIDEO HERE.

The hand belongs to God.
This Morning in my church we remembered the people that died and the rescuers.  It was Youth Sunday and I got the chance to draw a picture in front of the entire congregation while they listened to the song "Let There Be Peace On Earth".  Here is the picture I drew everyone liked it and clapped when I was finished and this is just the rough draft.  The one I drew in church is much bigger. It is all very sad what happened. One of my classmates said their cousin died in 9/11.

I wish there was peace on earth right now.

Osama bin Laden was the whole ringleader of the plot. He was killed by the U.S. Navy SEALs, and The CIA.

Gadgets

Lately I haven't had any spare time to devote to my website.  I miss writing my stories too but school comes first.  I like being in the fifth grade and we get to study Spanish this year.  Hola! Me llama Priya U.S.A.

The book light is for the car, mirror, pencil holder and JB magnet.

The fifth graders have new lockers that we can decorate with magnets, we bought these really cool magnets, a magnetic pencil holder, and a magnetic mirror, note pad and some other things.

These are my new headphones I took the picture myself.

Fan with USB connector.

I like to wear my iPhone headphones to watch movies on my computer because my little brother is too noisy. The old ones hurt my ears so I got this new pair. My brother has a new blue pair, because he's a copy cat.

Here is my new laptop lamp that plugs right into my laptop with a USB, and laptop  fan. The fan is for me not the laptop but it has a USB too, to plug into the laptop instead of the wall.

My dad bought my laptop for school but so far I haven't needed to take it to school but I use it to help me with my homework, which I have a lot of now.
