Making Microwave Pop Corn In A Paper Bag

Today we made homemade popcorn in our microwave, using a plain paper bag.

To do this fun and simple family food craft, all you need is;
  • brown paper bags
  • vegetable oil(1/2 to 1 teaspoon)
  • spoon
  • popcorn kernels
  • a 1/3 cup(59ml)
  • stapler (this is optional, just close bag really tight!)
  • microwave
  • bowls

    First, you fill the 1/3 cup with popcorn kernels.
  • Second, pour oil into the measuring cup on the kernals.
  • Third, open a paper bag and pour the mixture in.
  • Fourth, Staple or fold bag closed. Hold tightly and shake bag furiously (that's a joke), for 5-10 seconds.
  • Fifth, You should see splotches all over the bag from the oil inside. Insert bag into microwave for 2 minutes, until popping slows down.
  • With oven mitt or paper towel, remove bag from microwave and set on flat surface. Insert salt, butter, and/or powdered cheese. If you want, dump contents from bag into a big mixing bowl for movie nights.

I suggest Home Alone.
Enjoy.
